Return of the Mac – not me obviously, just the coat hahaha.. So I really like macs but find them difficult to chose and wear without looking like my gran. It was my birthday in Feb and my husband took me shopping. One of those days when you have money but seem to find nothing. Anyhow after failing to find anything in Zara, All Saints, Selfridges and all those kinds of shops I decided to walk through Primark to escape our gorgeous english rain. And to my surprise I found two great super light mac coats!
At last a good reason for the rain, for once! hahhahh. This particular mac is double breasted and has a military emphasises with shoulder straps and sleeve buttons, which I loved.
I was wearing it as a top as opposed to an over coat because less layering underneath, better it drapes. The colour of the mac is really beautiful. Depending on the light outside, it can vary from grey to tan.
The hooked cuffs are great to display any of your jewellery or watches, which I think is needed for this type of coat as it can be quite bland if kept minimal.
This Marks & Spencer box bag is definitely my fav so far. I usually wear mini bags, enough for my cards, cash, phone and lip balm but this box bag fits in my camera without it being knocked about. It is also quite a decent size for those who like me dread carrying big bags. Marks & Spencer have a reputation to cater for the older more mature shopper, however fashion has no boundaries especially in this current market. So don’t limit yourself to predictable shops, get yourself into Wallis, M&S, Evans etc you might find something completely different. Especially if you are much younger, individuality is not found where everyone else goes.
I paired my mac up lithesome skinny faux suede Zara pants aka trousers and Zara flats. The pants are super comfortable and are high waisted.
You know, sometimes I don’t give England enough credit. I complain about the lack of sun & abundance of rain but when I was out with my husband, I turned around and had a realisation moment. I wouldn’t find historical homes or estates like this anywhere is in the world. Beautiful just beautiful.
